“This master plan has been developed for the Alabama Trails Foundation as a guiding document for all stewards of the Alabama Pinhoti Trail.
Use of this plan is intended to stimulate collaboration and future partnerships among stewards of the trail. These stewards include a diversity of public and private landowners, municipalities, non-profit groups, governmental agencies, volunteers, and trail users.
This plan can be used in whole or in part depending on the work the individual or group is doing. It serves as an reference to understand existing conditions, identify opportunities for enhancements, and providing standards to design and construct built elements. It is to be used in conjunction with all governing local, municipal, and federal requirements.
This plan represents aspects critical to the protection of the integrity of the trail and environs and suggest guidelines for enhancement of the woodland experience in order to provide lifelong experiences to its users.”
